We’re thrilled to welcome Brooks Leitner, MD-PhD, as a new partner at PsyMed Ventures. Brooks brings a rare blend of deep scientific expertise and clinical and entrepreneurial experience, leveling up our team as we pursue frontier opportunities in brain and mental health.

Brooks has an MD-PhD from Yale University and has worked across three labs: the Perry Lab (Cellular & Molecular Physiology), the Exercise for Brain Health Lab at UMD, and the Metabolic Clinical Research Unit at The National Institutes of Health.

Beyond academia, Brooks is also a founder and investor. He co-founded EpiTET Therapeutics, a biotech targeting an epigenetic regulator to address chronic diseases. On the investment side, he worked at Canaan Partners, Foresite Capital, and BrightEdge - American Cancer Society .

Brooks hit the ground running—on day one, he said he had the excitement of “a dog in the pen before a race.”
